Similar to vertical blinds, mini-blinds are an important part of the bathroom experience as they help to provide privacy from prying eyes and protection against the elements. The blinds, however, are constantly exposed to various airborne particles and condensation, and this causes them to become quite dirty and dingy.

In order to help you clean mini blinds, here’s an easy breakdown of how to clean them in the bathtub.

Best Way to Clean Blinds in Tub: A Step-by-Step Process

Following these simple steps will help you achieve a thorough cleaning of your blinds in the bathtub:

  1. Get into your bathtub and line up the bottom of the tub with towels. You can now begin to fill the bathtub with at least five to six inches of moderately warm water.
  2. As the water fills into the tub, pour two tablespoons of liquid dish soap under the running tap to create a soapy mix.
  3. Close the blinds to prepare for cleaning. Afterwards, you can now remove them from the window. Tilt the unit to open all the slats of the blind and remove the blind from the attached brackets.
  4. Place the blinds on the towels of the bathtub and allow it to fully soak in the water for five to ten minutes. This allows the liquid to begin cleaning the dirt off the mini blinds.
  5. Remove the blinds from the water and use a clean cloth or a soft brush attachment to wipe the top and bottom portion of each slat thoroughly. You can also wipe down the tilt wand and headrail as well.
  6. You can now drain the soapy water out of the bathtub. Next, use the showerhead in the bathroom to rinse the various portions of the blind with fresh water.
  7. Remove the wet towels from the bathtub floor and replace them with dry and clean towels. Allow the blind to air-dry on the clean towels for half an hour.
  8. Reinstall the blinds into the appropriate location in the bathroom. Make sure to wipe down any excess moisture using a dry or soft cloth.

Closing the Blinds

Dirty mini-blinds in the bathroom can accumulate some really serious filth and this includes all types of grime and contaminants. We would suggest conducting a deep clean on the blinds at least once every month in order to retain hygiene.
